Dwight W. Jones, Sr., age 89, of Chipley, Florida, passed from this life on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay.
He was born on June 5, 1931 in Baker County, Florida, to the late Dana Jones and Maude (Fraser) Jones.
Dwight served in the United States Navy and was also the Vice President of Production at American Cool-air in Jacksonville.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edsell Jones, and sister, Carolyn Jones.
Survivors include his loving wife, Merle Jones of Chipley; three sons: Charles D. Jones of Macclenny, Dwight W. Jones, Jr. and wife Amy of Jacksonville, and Rowe D. Jones and wife Kimberly of Seminary, MS; brother, Winsell S. Jones of Hilliard; seven grandchildren: Alan Jones, Meghan Jones, Scott Jones, Amanda Jones, Christopher Jones, Camellia Jones and Jeremiah Jones.
A graveside service will be held on at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny with Rev. Johnny Ellis officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to a charity of choice in honor of Mr. Dwight W. Jones, Sr.
