Marianne Broxton, age 67, of Marianna, FL, died Friday, July 24, 2020 at Cross Shores Care Center in Port St. Joe.
She graduated with honors from Florida State University and taught Spanish in Calhoun and Jackson county schools until her retirement. Marianne also worked with the State of Florida in Tallahassee and was of Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Broxton; parents, John W. and Mary Nina Sewell Maddox; and sister, Janice W. Maddox.
Marianne is survived by her sisters, Pat Lawson of Panama City, and Judy Lester, of Panama City Beach; niece, Caroline McClanahan (Rich) of Panama City Beach; nephews, Travis (Ellie) Lawson of Marianna, and Benjamin Lester of Panama City Beach; two great nieces, Nina McClanahan, Paige Lawson; and two great nephews, Richie McClanahan and John Lawson; as well as many cousins and special family friend, David Saunders.
Funeral services will be conducted at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Flavious Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
