Helen Louise Deese, 87 of Cottondale, Florida Passes on September 9, 2020 in Chipley, Florida

Helen Louise Deese, age 87 of Cottondale, Florida, went home to be with her Lord on September 9, 2020 at the Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Chipley.

Helen was born on September 8, 1933 in Washington County, Florida, to Willard Wilburn Kent and Jennie Sewell Kent. A lifelong resident of the panhandle, Helen worked as a cashier for the vast majority of her career; in addition, she was also a Kindergarten Teacher at Kate Smith Elementary School for a period of time as well as serving as the secretary for the University of Florida. Helen was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Willard and Jennie Kent; husband: Ira Deese; daughter: Beth Smith; brother: Buddy Kent; sister: Sarah Hall.

She is survived by her sons: Danny Tate (Kelly) of Cottondale, FL, Dennis Williams of Bradenton, FL, Dale Williams; grandchildren: Philip Smith (Leann) of Bay County, FL, Tiffany Hitchcock (David) of Cottondale, FL, Taylor Tate (Tia) of Cottondale, FL; eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Cottondale, Florida, with Rev. James Gray Braxton officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.

A private family viewing will be held the same day.
