James Michael Turner went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 9, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in Tallahassee, Florida.
James was born on October 19, 1969 in Carbondale, Illinois. He resided in Marianna, Florida with his loving wife, Theresa Cada Turner, and his two wonderful sons, Brian Turner and Joshua Turner, as well as their precious dog, Daisy. James was an Ordained Minister through the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee. He worshipped and served as the Associate Pastor at Waters of Life Worship Center in Marianna, Florida, serving under Rev. Mark and Trina Johnson. James also ministers on a volunteer basis at the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center. Sharing the Bread of Life with the residents and the employees. He worked for Flowers Baking Co. as a route salesman for many years. He used this position with this company as another opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. James’ passion was working for the Lord and sharing his love for Christ and sharing the hope of salvation. James was known for being devoted to his family and to Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. His professions in the world were a Preacher for the Gospel first, and a bread salesman second. In all James did, his goal was to glorify the Lord.
James was preceded in death by his sister: Tammy Denise; grandmother: Rosa May Kissiar; uncles: Willie Kissiar, Ray Kissiar, Larry Kissiar, and Jim Kissiar; father in law: Daryl “Reb” Betts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Theresa Cada Turner of Marianna, FL; two sons: Brian Turner and Joshua Turner and their beloved dog, Daisy; parents: Brenda and George Stover of Defuniak Springs, FL; grandparents: David and Mary Stover of Niceville, FL; sisters: Christina Sims (Van) of Georgiana, AL, Keritha Stover (Roy) of Live Oak, FL; aunts: Lynda Palmer (Ken) of Illinois, Tressie Long (Leroy) of Illinois, Carolyn Kissiar of Illinois, Nancy Jones (Jim) of Niceville, FL, Connie Singletary (Ed) of Tennessee; uncles: Ernie Kissiar (Brenda) of Illinois, Dave Stover (Jennifer) of Missouri; mother in law: Linda Betts of Defuniak Springs, FL; brother in law: Daryl Betts (Shayne) of Defuniak Springs; sister in law: Cynthia Cada (Ed O’Brien) of Defuniak Springs, FL; nieces and nephews: Tammy Renee Futrel of Paducach, KY, Jonathan Timmons (Christy) and their three sons of Weaver, AL, Patrick Timmons (Jennifer) and one son of Weaver, AL, Haleigh Martin of Defuniak Springs, FL, Ashleigh Martin and Brandon Martin of Live Oak, FL, Anthony Betts (Rainy) and their two children of West Palm Beach, FL, Jenifer Anderson (Anthony) and two step sons of Defuniak Springs, FL, Christopher Betts of Defuniak Springs, FL; many loved ones and extended family.
Memorialization will be by cremation with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
