Alene Vivian Moneyham, 90, of Grand Ridge went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 23, 2020.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Moneyham has been a resident of the Shady Grove community for the past 63 years. She was a member of the Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church and served the Lord faithfully throughout her life. She was an avid fisher, loved to sing, loved going to church and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde R. Moneyham; father, Jimmy Yon, and mother, Willie Yon; daughter, Katherine Diane Moneyham; son, Ronnie Moneyham; son, Michael Moneyham; grandson, Ted Alan Moneyham; sisters, Evelyn Edenfield, Vera Lee Waldorff and Lucille Bradley; brothers, James Donald “Jack” Yon, Dowling Joseph “Pete” Yon, Herbert R “Mutt” Yon and William H “Jeff” Yon.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Gail Deese and husband Duke; one son, J.R. Moneyham and wife Genice; two daughter-in-laws, Barbara Moneyham and Donna Moneyham, all of Grand Ridge; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grand-children; 3 great, great grand-children; special friend, Lizzie Simpson and numerous other family members and friends.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 26 at the Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Revs. Steve Thurmond and Gary Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 25, at the Shady Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church in Grand Ridge.
