Samuel Hagan, 75 of Chipley, Florida Passes on October 30, 2020 in Panama City, Florida

Samuel Hagan, age 75, passed from this life Friday, October 30, 2020 at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, FL.

He was born in Jacksonville, FL, on February 16, 1945 to Warren G.  and Mary Olive (Bryan) Hagan.

Sam was a Christian. He loved God and his family. He was a Deacon at Blue Lake Baptist Church, served in the Navy for 4 years and was a member of The American Legion. Sam had retired from the Florida Department of Corrections as a sergeant. He formally served in the Associate Disaster Relief for many years and was at 911 ground zero serving and cooking for several weeks. Sam was a huge Nascar fan of Kyle Bush and a huge Alabama Fan, Roll Tide Roll!!!

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons: Jeffrey Hagan and Michael Strickland.

Sam is survived by his wife, Linda Carol Hagan of 39 years, married September 4, 1981, his daughter, Katrina Perkins and husband Will, daughter-in-law, Wendy Hagan, son, Charles Hagan and wife Heather, six grandchildren: Tucker Barfield, Tanner Perkins, Aiden Hagan, Alina Hagan, Hailey Hagan, and Lucas Hagan, sister, Joan Miley and husband Bob, brothers: Joe Hagan and wife Lisa, Bill Hagan and wife Pat.

Funeral service will be held 11:00A.M., Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Blue Lake Church with Rev. Rich Smelser and Henry Tucker officiating. The church doors will open to the public at 10:45A.M. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Sam was known as “The Friendliest” Wal-Mart greeter. His favorite saying anytime someone asked how he was, “If I was any better, I’d be in Heaven!”
