Juanita Flanders Chance, 94, of Marianna, FL, passed away at home on Monday, December 07, 2020.
Juanita was born in Calhoun County, Florida to Floyd and Cassie Hall Flanders. She was a graduate of Frink High School. Juanita married her husband, Floyd Chance in 1946. They were married 57 years and lived in Marianna until his passing in 2003. Juanita was a homemaker who loved her family and visits from extended family and friends. She was an excellent cook and everyone asked for Mema’s biscuits, pound cakes, and coconut cakes. She was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church and loved her Faithful Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter, brothers, Fala, Felix, Reecy, Jim, Millard, and Victor; sisters, Lenora Gilbert, Mabel Micucci, and Dorothy Kemper.
Juanita is survived by her son, Gerald Chance and wife, Diane; daughter, Gail Henderson, all of Marianna; grandson, Stephen Henderson and wife, Christina of Golden, CO; granddaughters, Alicia Poore and husband, Scott, Jerri French and husband, Chris, Annita Varela and husband, Jesse all of Tallahassee, Leslie Crook and husband, Danny of the Isle of Man, nine great grandchildren, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at New Shiloh Cemetery with Reverend Bill Stephens officiating, Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
