Alice Laverne Bryant, 73 of Marianna, Florida Passes on December 14, 2020 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna

Mrs. Alice Laverne Bryant, age 73, of Marianna, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna with her family at her bedside.

Mrs. Bryant was a native of Jackson County, Florida and attended Greenwood Chapel AME Church and Union Grove High School in Greenwood, Florida. She was the baby of nine siblings.

She retired from Marianna High School after twenty-five years. She was known as “Mrs. Alice”. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, going out to eat and hearing Reverend Abraham Johnson “stomp his toe”.

Mrs. Bryant was united in Holy Matrimony on February 26, 1966 to her soulmate, Mr. Carbert  Bryant, Jr. and this union was blessed with three children: Anthony Bryant of Ireland, Laverne Bryant and Stephanie Bryant both of Marianna, Florida and one grandchild, Joseph Graham.

She is also survived by her siblings: Aggie Mae Lang of Marianna, Florida and Lynn Brunson of Pensacola, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty Dickens (Raymond) of Cottondale, Florida, Ruth Ann (Charles) White of North Carolina, Clayton Hermie (Wilber) Perkins of Irvington, New Jersey, Mattie (James) Watts of Irvington, New Jersey, Hurcles “Bumb” of Clayton Carolina, Will Henry (Unnette) Bryant of Cottondale, Florida, Howard (Dorothy) Bryant of Dover, Delaware and James (Louise) Gipson of Tallahassee, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation, with required facial covering and social distancing will began at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2020, in the M. Sue and Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, in Graceville, Florida.

A celebration of life with required facial covering and social distancing will began at 11:00 AM, Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Nubbins Ridge Cemetery in Greenwood, Florida with the Reverend Abraham Johnson officiating under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
