The Beta club at Chipley High School traded a classic holiday treat for canned goods during its Christmas food drive.
Every student that donated items was given a candy cane in exchange.
The canned goods and nonperishables items will be taken to the community food pantry of First Baptist Church in Chipley.
The members wanted to collect enough food so anyone in need this holiday would have plenty.
“It’s so close to the holidays we want to make sure that everybody has a good holiday dinner of course we don’t want anyone to go hungry during such a joyful time,” says beta club member Sarah Bush.
The school drive ended on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, but those wanting to help can take donations to the church.
