Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City, Florida Administers Vaccine To Hospital Staff

After Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida started to administer COVID-19 vaccines to hospital staff, other local health care facilities have also begun to do so.

Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City, Florida has received vaccine doses for administration to staff directly involved with the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Gulf Coast staff was notified by e-mail to sign up for times, starting on Monday, December 28, 2020, using the Moderna vaccine.

This vaccine requires a booster shot 28 days after the initial vaccination, and is the same as was given to the Chipley hospital staff.

Washington County, Florida School District in Chipley has also notified their staff over 65 years of age that they will be given the free vaccine later this week.

CDC guidelines are set for deciding which health care staff will be given the vaccine, based on direct contact with COVID patients.

All staff at the NFCH facility who wanted to get the vaccine were able to do so, and Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center has indicated that they too, will have enough doses to cover all staff.
