The coronavirus vaccine rollout has been subject to substantial criticism, and with the rollout going slower than many had predicted, officials are now seeking some extra help to speed up the process.
The COVID vaccine will begin to be available at some local pharmacies in select states starting this week, including Publix, with more to follow.
Eligible recipients will include healthcare personnel with direct patient contact, residents and staff in long-term healthcare facilities, and persons 65 years of age and older.
A limited number of COVID-19 vaccines are available at select Publix pharmacies in Bay, Citrus, Escambia, Hernando, Marion, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton counties, with more counties to be announced soon.
