Washington County Sheriff’s Office Charge Jayme Tyler Shumaker of Chipley with 3 Counts Grand Theft

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a call on January 14, 2021 in reference to a theft from a residence on Foxworth Rd. Once on scene, WCSO deputies took a report and entered the property as stolen.

On January 15, 2021, Investigators were able to identify the suspect in the theft as 24-year-old, Jayme Tyler Shumaker, of Chipley, FL. Investigators and deputies responded to a residence on Cane Mill Rd. where he was located outside. Shumaker spotted deputies and fled on foot into the wooded area behind the residence with the duffel bags containing stolen property.

WCSO deployed their drone and Northwest FL Reception Center K-9 responded to the scene to assist in locating Shumaker. A short time later, Shumaker was apprehended without incident and the stolen property was recovered.

Shumaker has been charged and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of 2 counts Grand Theft of a Firearm and 1 count of Grand Theft of Property.
