On the date of January 17, 2021, an officer with the Chipley Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a 2021 Blue Nissan Versa on Highway 77, in Chipley, Florida.
The car had no tag attached and the investigation revealed it was a rental car. The renter of the vehicle, was identified as Ashley Marie Lett, 31 of Enterprise, Alabama.
During the course of the traffic stop a Narcotics Detection K-9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of the odor of narcotics. A search of the vehicle was conducted where officers located a black box under Lett’s seat containing a significant amount of methamphetamine. A search of Lett revealed two glass smoking pipes.
Lett was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. Lett is being charged with:
Trafficking in Amphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
