Wilanne Daniels, County Administrator for Jackson County, Florida announced this week that Jackson County was off to a great start in 2021, and thanked everyone participating in the COVID-19 Vaccine Event earlier this month.

Daniels also announced that the Jackson County Board of Commissioners is trying a six month trial of waiving building permit fees for new residential construction and remodels.

While permits are still required, the fees will be waived through July 27, 2021, at which time the Board will evaluate data to determine if they can sustain this in the future.

The Board also authorized the Community Development Department with creating a concierge service to offer citizens full service to guide them through the development process.

Wilanne Daniels began her career with the Jackson County Board of County Commissioners in 2006 as a Planner for the Community Development Department.  In 2014, she had the opportunity to become the Director of Community Development.  She held that position until March 2018 when she was appointed as Interim County Administrator.  Mrs. Daniels was selected for the position of County Administrator in November 2018.
