The New York Times ranked Panama City, which failed to take top honors in the category, as second in the country for new coronavirus cases this week.
Over the past two weeks, Panama City has been in the top 10 and at times number two in the country per capita for the most average daily new cases over the past two weeks. The number is based on the number of new cases per 100,000 population.
There have been almost 3,000 new cases in the past two weeks with almost 110 new cases every day.
