Chipley High School has found their new head football coach and he’s had a lot of experience coaching in the panhandle.
The Tigers have named Marcus Buchanan to the role.
This will be Buchanan’s first head coaching gig, but he’s not new to the sidelines. He was an assistant coach at Milton for 10 years and Pace for 6 years. Buchanan was offered the head coaching gig at Graceville 3 years ago.
Chipley’s principal, Alicia Clemmons said Buchanan will be on campus next week and will get started with the team as soon as possible.
‘I am very excited to announce that I have accepted the position and will be the next Head Football Coach & Athletic Director at Chipley High School! My last day in Santa Rosa County will be next Friday February 19. I want to thank all the people at Sims Middle School, Pace High School and Milton High School for many great years’, said Buchanan on Friday, February 12, 2021.
‘I will be in Chipley on Monday (Presidents Day) and I look forward to meeting everyone! I will officially start at Chipley High School one week from that on Monday February 22’.
