In humble submission to the will of God, we respectfully announce the earthly transition of Mr. Roosevelt Anderson on February 19, 2021 in the North Okaloosa Medical Center of Crestview, FL. He was 73 years old a native of Walton County, FL.
Roosevelt was born on October 11, 1947 to the late Aburey & Jeanette (Clemons) Anderson in Walton County, FL. Being raised in a Christian home, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and later in life became affiliated with the Triumph Holiness Church in Ponce de Leon, FL. Roosevelt was educated in Walton County, FL and graduated from the Chapel Hill High School.
Roosevelt was employed with the Eglin Air Force Base and served as a custodian for 35 years before retiring. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Peggy J. McCaskill on October 14, 1977 and to this union four beautiful children were born. Roosevelt enjoyed reading his bible, fishing, and keeping his yard clean with his grandson, Ty’Vontae. He was a sweet and caring person who would help anyone he could. Roosevelt loved his family and friends dearly and cherished every moment spent with them.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 44 years: Peggy M. Anderson; son: Eric Anderson; three daughters: Denise (Byron) Green, Shaeraka Anderson, and Katrina Anderson, all of Ponce de Leon, FL; eight grandchildren: Issiah Anderson, Jy’Trell Anderson, Ty’Vontae Guice, Diamond Anderson, Rihanna Guice, Jayla Baker, J’Siona Bell, and Jaliya Bell; a cousin/brother: Hayward Clemons; aunt: Joyce D. Robinson both of DeFuniak Springs, FL; a special nephew: Adrian Goode of Andalusia, AL; special cousin: Luetrishe Goode of DeFuniak Springs, FL; special friends: Richard Randolph, Larau Jackson, John Siples, Jr., Lee Siples, Truman Chestnut, Ira Jackson, and Jerry Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life & Committal Service will be held 3PM CST, Saturday, February 27, 2021 from the sacred grounds of the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery of Ponce de Leon, FL with Bro. Leonard Dean, officiating. The family will receive friends for a public walk-through viewing on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 6-8 PM CST in the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel of Chipley, FL.
