City of DeFuniak Springs, Florida Issues Notice of Upcoming Public Hearing on March 15, 2021

The City of DeFuniak Springs is considering submitting a pre-application to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) – Corona Virus (CV) relief.

The City is eligible to apply to any of the CDBG-CV categories. Construction activities funded through the CDBG-CV program must meet one of the following National Objectives:

  • Provide benefit to low- and moderate-income persons;
  • Limited Clientele;
  • Housing;
  • Area basis;
  • Urgent need;
  • Area benefit;
  • Jobs;
  • Prevention or elimination of Slums or Blight; or
  • Spot basis.

The types of activities that CDBG funds may be used for are buildings and improvements, assistance to businesses, public services and planning. Additional information regarding the range of activities that could be funded will be provided at the public hearing.

A public hearing to obtain citizen comment concerning the City’s corona virus relief needs will be held at City Hall, 71 US Highway 90 West, on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 9:00 AM (CST).
