A Graceville man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 2.
James R. Simmons was identified as the driver of a older Chevy pickup that had an expired tag.
During the stop Simmons stated to the deputy that there was marijuana in the vehicle.
As the deputy began to search the vehicle, he observed Simmons drop a Chapstick container on the ground and try to conceal it by stepping on it.
The deputy detained Simmons and recovered the container, inside of it was a plastic baggy containing methamphetamine.
Simmons was arrested and charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
