Ms. Velma Elaine Whitaker, age 93, of Bonifay, Florida passed away March 26, 2021 at her home.
She was born December 31, 1927 in Chipley, Florida to the late Ennis Needom Chesnut and Docie Ola Baker Chesnut.
In addition to her parents, Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Whitaker, one daughter, Carla Hygema, one son, Craig Naylor, two sons-in-law, John Bomann and Jerry Johnson, one granddaughter-in-law, Meghan Bomann, two sisters, Elvie Lawrence and Flora Moore, and one brother, Buford Chesnut.
Ms. Whitaker is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Naylor Bomann of Bonifay, FL and Carol Naylor Johnson of Bonifay, FL; six grandchildren, Jeff Milberger and wife Jenny, Chris Powell and wife Shelia, Reade Bomann, Ross Bomann and wife Natalie, Kevin Naylor, and Carrie Gavaller and husband Jason; 13 great-grandchildren, Garrett, Brianna, Hannah, Hailee, Jessie, Emily, Travis, Ciara, Katyjo, Abby, Morgan, Dylan, and Zeke; six great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 29, 2021, at New Effort Church with Rev. Brent Jones officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.
