We love our teachers, and so does Governor Ron DeSantis. That’s why today, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, he called for a new $1,000 bonus to all Florida teachers, paid for from federal COVID education relief dollars.
This is on top of a new $47,000 starting salary for teachers he signed into law last year, as well as other new incentives he has proposed in 2021.
None of this requires the NEW PROPERTY TAX INCREASE that is on the ballot right now. We can take care of our teachers, without new taxes on Bay County workers.
