Buford Taylor, age 68 of Chipley, went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2021 at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City, Florida.
Buford was born on June 2, 1952 in Washington County, Florida to Carl and Lucille Newsome Taylor. A lifelong resident of Washington County, Buford was a skilled mechanic who owned and operated Taylor’s Garage.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Lucille Taylor; brothers: Frank Hood and Mack Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joyce Taylor of Chipley, Florida; two sons: Buford Lamar Taylor of Kentucky, Jeffery Joiner (Delora Coleman) of Chipley, Florida; two daughters: Wendy Hewitt of Bonifay, Florida, Lee Harrison (Darin) of Chipley, Florida; two brothers: David West of Dothan, Alabama, Hugh Taylor (Carolyn) of Chipley, Florida; sister: Mary Lou Shirah of Chipley, Florida; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Chipley, Florida with Rev. Ernie Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
