Connie Mack Taylor, age 82 of Chipley, Florida went home to be with our Lord on April 12, 2021.
Connie was born on September 6, 1938 in Newville, Alabama. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard based in Headland, Alabama in the early 60’s.
He worked at Moore Hadley in Dothan, Alabama for years and then relocated to the Florida panhandle where he continued working in sales and eventually met his wife of 35 years, Glenda Taylor.
He enjoyed watching Auburn football, Nascar, fishing, cooking, and dogs. He pursued his dream of becoming a Chef at his own restaurant when he started Bailey’s BBQ in Chipley, Florida in November of 1995.
It is now known as Bailey’s Surf & Turf and has been a success for over 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Yancey and Nellie Taylor.
He is survived by his wife: Glenda Taylor; daughters: Kim Taylor and Kelly Champagne; grandson: Micah Champagne; father in-law: Pete Gimm; sister: LaDallion Taylor Wiles (Doug); nieces and nephews: Chris Stinson (Kathryn), Stacie Pruitt (Tommy), Helen Wiles, and Timothy Wiles.
The family will receive friends from 11AM-12PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Obert Funeral Home in Chipley, Florida with the burial and graveside service to follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley, Florida with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
