Margaret Hightower Carter, 90 of Graceville passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 in Tallahassee, FL.

Visitation will be at Galilee Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021 at Galilee United Methodist Church with Buddy Goodman officiating. Burial will in the church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.

In lieu of flowers family request memorials be made to Galilee United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Margaret was born in Vernon, FL on October 15, 1930 to the late William Leroy and Susan Miller Hightower.  Mrs. Margaret was a graduate of Vernon High School Class of 1948 and graduated from Moody Hospital with a degree in Nursing in 1951. 

She was a Registered Nurse for 30+ years bringing new life into the world and holding the hands of those leaving this life.  She was a long-time member of Galilee United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband Henry A. “Gus” Carter.

Survived by her three sons Steve Carter (Diane), Tallahassee, FL, Burt Carter (Lucia), Auburn, AL, Wayne Carter (Jeanie), Crawfordville, FL; one daughter Annette Carter Kittrell (Jim), Tallahassee, FL.; eleven grandchildren Lyle Carter (Laura), Lee Carter (Trisha), Mitch Carter, Kyle Carter (Katherine), Reid Carter, Trey Carter, Charles Janes (Ashlee), Rachel Stewart (Kyler), Brad Kittrell (Marion), Chad Kittrell, Adam Perkins (Casey); fourteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
