To some he was daddy, some our father-in-law, to a lot of us he was granddaddy, for others he was simply uncle & friend, but to Liberty County he was Sheriff.
Being Sheriff of Liberty County was Harrell Wood’s lifelong dream – he was a sheriff of the people in Liberty County and for the people of Liberty County.
He will long be remembered for his beautiful smile, laughter that warmed the room, impeccable attire of dress pants and cowboy boots, donning his Stetson hat in a way like none else could, his notoriously unlit cigar, which was usually left behind as a reminder you’d had a visit from the legend Harrell Wood Revell.
