Randall B. Anderson, 72 of Cottondale, Florida entered his Heavenly Home on Monday, May 10, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.
A Home-going service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church in Cottondale with Bro. Chris Franklin, Bro. Gino Mayo and Sis. Olivia Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in First Assembly of God Cemetery with Military Honors and James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
The Family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, 1 p.m. until time of service.
Flowers will be accepted or family request those wishing to make memorials in his memory to the Cottondale Volunteer Fire Department.
Andy was born in Cairo, Georgia on April 13, 1949 to the late Leon Kelley Anderson and Opal Louise Johnson Anderson. A Veteran of the U. S. Army and U. S. Army National Guard, Andy served during the Vietnam Era and Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He retired following 20 years with the U. S. Army National Guard where he received several decorations, medals, badges and campaign ribbons.
Andy worked over 30 years with the Florida Department of Corrections, Holmes CI and he served as Cottondale Volunteer Fire Chief for over 20 years.
He was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cottondale. Andy truly loved his family, his country, his church and his community always giving and helping in any capacity he could.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife Paulette Anderson, daughter Georgia Lipford (Terry), stepson Jason Gilley, brother Leon Anderson (Linda), two grandchildren Thomas Lipford, Justin Lipford; several nieces and nephews, and a special caretaker and niece Kim Kirkland; four sisters-in-law Faye Corbitt (Morgan), Andie Adams, Brenda Snell (Danny) and Glenda Sloan (Frank) and two fur babies Chico and Daisy.
