Washington County, Florida Emergency Operations Center Advises of Intermittent Lane Changes on Highway 77 and Highway 79 in Chipley, Vernon and Sunny Hills

CHIPLEY-
State Road (S.R.) 77 (Main Street) Traffic Signal at S.R. 273 (Glenwood Avenue)- Any necessary lane closures will take place between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Off-duty law enforcement will be on-site to assist with traffic control.
 
SUNNY HILLS/GREENHEAD-
S.R. 77 Widening – Motorists will encounter a shift in the travel lanes between Shenandoah Road and Pine Log Road, Thursday, June 10, at 9 a.m. These changes are necessary to construct a portion of the new northbound lanes. Additional signage will be used to direct motorists through the new transitions.
 
VERNON-
S.R. 79 Widening – Motorists will encounter intermittent outside lane closures between Court Avenue and Two Creek Road in Vernon from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 10, and Friday, June 11 as crews lay sod.
 
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
