Vernon Offers Sewer Credit Against Swimming Pool Fills

By | June 23, 2021

In the Monday, June 21, 2021 meeting of the Vernon, Florida City Council, a resolution was passed to enable residents to fill their swimming pools without being billed for the sewer-side portion of their water/sewer fee.

  1. Any resident who desires a credit against their water/sewer utility bill for using treated water to fill their swimming pool must contact the City Clerk prior to filling their pool and complete request form which includes identifying the size of the pool measured in gallons (see Resolution #21-169 below).
  2. After filling the pool, the Owner must notify the City Clerk that the pool has been filled.
  3. The Clerk will then notify the Public Works Director to confirm that the pool matches the size listed on the request form and that the pool has been filled.
  4. Once confirmed, the Clerk will then credit the owner’s account for the sewer charges for the pool fill.
  5. Owners who do not follow this procedure will not be entitled to a credit against water/sewer utility bill.
  6. Vernon residents may use application (below) to apply for this credit
