On June 20, 2021, a deputy responded to Hwy 179-A and Hwy 160 in reference to a suspicious person by the bridge. Upon arrival the deputy observed a white male later identified as Daniel Soto, from Westville throw a green object into the woods.
The deputy retrieved the green medicine bottle that had Daniel Soto name written on it. The bottle contained methamphetamine and oxycodone pills. Soto was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone, and tampering with evidence.
