Our mother, Elwanda Brock George, 88, of Springville, Utah passed from this life on July 18, 2021.
She was born on January 22, 1933, in Bonifay, FL to her parents Marvin Jeffries Brock and Altha Lois Brock. She married our father, Donald Willard George, on March 2, 1951, and they were later sealed together for time and all eternity in June 1956 in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is preceded in death by our father, Donald George, on December 25, 2004. She is also preceded in death by their son, our brother, Stephen Lynn George on June 16, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Richard Crowther, on April 11, 2014.
She will be remembered as a wonderful, talented, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her main interests were her family, church, our farm and ranch life in Bonifay, FL and sharing her amazing homemaking skills with family and friends. She loved her family dearly. She was an accomplished seamstress/dress designer. She later became a hairdresser and owned her own salon in Chipley, FL.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Relief Society President (women’s organization) and in the Primary organization (children’s organization). Several years after our father’s death, she married Richard Crowther, originally from Provo, Utah. They later made their home in Springville, UT. They loved Springville and their community there. Even after Richard’s death in 2014, she continued to live in Springville and passed on in her home there.
She is survived by three of her children: Gary Don George of Bonifay, FL, Kimball Grant George of Chipley, FL, and Karen George Aukema of Chipley FL, 10 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Yvone Brock Foster, and Dennis Brock.
Her funeral will be on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 3:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 3080 Northride Lane in Bonifay, FL. There will be a visitation from 1:30-2:30pm just prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the East Mt. Zion Cemetery in Graceville, FL.
