Washington County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Donald Karl Pape of Holmes County on Outstanding Warrants

A Holmes County man is in custody after Washington County deputies assist Pasco County in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

On July 20, 2021, an investigator from Pasco County Sheriff’s Office made contact with deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in an attempt to locate a stolen vehicle.

Investigators explained, 54-year-old, Donald Karl Pape of Holmes County had written a check to a dealership, in their jurisdiction, to purchase a vehicle. Investigators also stated the OnStar on the vehicle had been disabled and relayed the address of its location. Pape was also discovered to have active unrelated warrants.

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies confirmed Pape had outstanding warrants out of Bay County. In route to the address, deputies witnessed an approaching vehicle with Pape inside. A traffic stop was conducted, and Pape was detained.

Pape explained his side of the story and asked if deputies were in route to retrieve the stolen vehicle. Pape and the passenger both stated the location of the stolen vehicle and handed over the keys.

A short time later the vehicle was recovered, Pape was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on the outstanding warrants. More charges to follow out of Pasco County.
