That’s what happened on Thursday, July 22, 2021 as a Chipley, Florida substation for Gulf Power Company suffered a catastrophic failure of a piece of equipment.
Notifying customers of the failure and the effort to restore power, Gulf Power staff brought the system back online in record time, taking less than 5 1/2 hours to get a mobile substation delivered to Chipley from Pensacola, and Chipley Gulf Power customers back up and running, with heavenly air conditioning.
