Holmes County, Florida School Board Closes School Campuses to Non-Essential Visitors Due to COVID

By | August 10, 2021
The Holmes County, Florida School Board released the following statement, “Due to the increased number of COVID cases in our area, school campuses will be closed to non-essential visitors.

However, we understand how important it is for many parents to take their child on the first day of school, and we will allow parents to escort their child to class on the first day only.”

HCSB asks to please limit your time on campus to 15 minutes or less to minimize possible exposures and allow teachers and students to begin their morning routines.

After the first day, visitors will be allowed only for essential meetings with school staff.

HCSB apologizes for not being able to schools to visitors and volunteers at this time.

It is their hope that in the future this will be relaxed, but feel it is important to try to limit contact during these first few weeks and until COVID is on the decline again.

The Florida Department of Education has released its protocol for student exposure to COVID-19.

HCSB will be following this decision tree to determine when students need to quarantine.
