Holmes County, Florida School District Schools will be open and operating on a normal schedule on Tuesday, August 17.
Thankfully, the track of Tropical Storm Fred moved further east of our area, and we were spared significant rainfall amounts and high winds.
According to current forecast data, any remaining severe weather should be out of the area prior to Tuesday morning.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our utmost priority. Our drivers will, as always, exercise extreme caution when traveling dirt roads.
Currently at 5:00 PM there are no known road closures within our county.
In the event your dirt road is unpassable by bus, please contact your bus driver or school.
In the event that rainfall exceeds projections and you do not feel comfortable sending your students to school, we will have a liberal policy on absenteeism for this day.
To repeat, Holmes County Schools will be open on Tuesday, August 17.
We appreciate your patience as we have gathered data from Emergency Management and other sources to enable us to make the most informed decision for our students and staff, while ensuring their safety.
