FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEGRACEVILLE – As of 4:15 p.m. West Florida Electric Cooperative (WFEC) crews were working to restore power to 1,815 members in Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson and Washington Counties.
Calhoun: 239, Holmes: 1,041, Jackson: 379, Washington: 156
Crews will continue working to restore power until it is deemed no longer safe to do so.

Outage updates are being posted on the cooperative’s Facebook and Twitter pages every two hours.
Outage numbers fluctuate quickly as bands pass over the area and as crews make repairs.

All WFEC offices will be closed to the public on Tuesday, August 17 to focus on power restoration efforts.
If you require uninterrupted power to operate vital medical equipment or other critical devices, make arrangements to relocate or have an auxiliary power source available.

Additional crews are on the way from Clay Electric Cooperative and Suwannee Electric Cooperative to help WFEC personnel make repairs and restore power as quickly, but safely as possible.

Tropical Storm Fred has started moving through WFEC’s service area at this time.
There are over 1,700 members without power in Calhoun & Jackson Counties.
We expect these numbers to continue to fluctuate as bands move across the area.
Crews will work as quickly but safely as possible to make repairs throughout the rest of the day as TS Fred moves through.
