Albert Chaffer, 83 of Alford Florida, went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2021 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama.
Albert was born on October 29, 1937 in Long Beach, New York to Elbert Chaffer and Arlene Hay. He retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of service, before going to work for the City of Clearwater Police Department.
Albert enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, woodworking, and raising a variety of orchids. He also loved to travel, bowl, and golf, when his health permitted. Albert was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church of Cottondale, Florida. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Elbert and Arlene Chaffer; beloved wife: Nancy Chaffer.
He is survived by his son: Andrew Chaffer (Melodie) of Pelham, Georgia; daughter: Teri Stephenson of Alford, Florida; brother: Ronald Chaffer (Terri) of Zimmerman, Minnesota; grandchildren: Toni Menuto of Alford, Florida, Joel Chaffer of Prattville, Alabama, Kurt Chaffer of Pelham Georgia, Luke Chaffer of Pelham Georgia; great grandchildren: Mathew, Mia, Sicily and Hattie Mae.
Graveside services will be held 10:30AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Cottondale, Florida. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
A time of visitation will be held from 9-10AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Obert Funeral Home.
