Donald Allen Davis, 63 of Samson, Alabama Passes on August 28, 2021

Donald Allen Davis of Samson, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the age of 63.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Samson, Alabama with the Rev. Jeremy Davis officiating.

Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in New Brockton with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at the Church Tuesday beginning at 10:00 A.M. and continue until service time.

The family asks that visitors please wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing.

Donald was born February 12, 1958, in Florala, Alabama to the late Ernest Nathaniel and Audrey Mae Calhoun Davis. A dedicated father, Donald coached his sons’ baseball teams for over 15 years and influenced many young men along the way. He was a humble, kind, smart, quiet, and very selfless man. He worked for First South Farm Credit for 40 years, helping farming families in the community.

Survived by his wife of 40 years; Melissa McDaniel Davis of Samson, AL; two sons; Andrew Davis (Rachel) of Dothan, AL; Alex Davis (Katie) of Enterprise, AL; two grandchildren: Carson Davis and Graham Davis of Dothan, AL; one brother: Ronald E. Davis (Jean) of Samson, AL; one sister: Marie Eddins (Jimmy) of Coffee Springs, AL; two sisters-in-law: Melinda Dean (Jerry) of Trussville, AL and Michele Oden (Scott) of Fairhope, AL: numerous special nieces and nephews.
