Floyd Cook, 84 of Chipley, Florida Passes on August 29, 2021 in Bonifay, Florida

Floyd Cook, 84 of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2021 at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center. 

Floyd was born on June 24, 1937 in Bonifay, Florida, to Earl Cook and Lillian Baxter. He worked as a Highway Designer at Florida DOT for 37 years. A lifelong resident of the Panhandle, Floyd was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida for 46 years. He was gifted musically and taught himself how to play Mt. Dulcimer instrument. 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Lillian Cook; son: Pat Cook; brother: Kenneth Cook; sisters: Marie Bowen, Linda Carol. He joined his beloved wife Jean Cook in Heaven a few hours later. 

He is survived by his son: Glenn Cook of Chipley, Florida; daughter: Karen Cook of Chipley, Florida; brother: Edward Cook (Jean) of Brazil, James Cook (Melissa) of Bonifay, Florida; sisters: Elaine Triller of Bonifay, Florida, Charlaine Dyson (Kenneth) of California, Lillian Hearn (Neil) of Burn, Tennessee, Shirley Walsingham (John Earl) of Wausau, Florida; grandchildren: Chris Cook, Rachel Krieger, Meleah Cook, Ashlyn Cook; great grandchildren: Alexis Cook, Jessalynn Cook, Carson Krieger. 

Funeral Services will be held 11AM  Friday September 3, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Chipley, Florida with Rev. Gary Wiggins and Rev. Tim Brigham. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Obert Funeral Home Of Chipley, Florida directing.

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Food Bank in his honor at 1407 South Railroad Ave, Chipley, Florida.
