Jean Cook, 80 of Chipley, Florida Passes on August 29, 2021 in Tallahassee, Florida

Jean Cook, 80, of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2021 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Florida. 

Jean was born on September 12, 1940, in Washington County, FL to James Taylor and Jessie McClain. A lifelong resident of the Panhandle, Jean was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley, FL for 46 years. In her free time she enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her family. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Taylor and Jessie Taylor; son: Pat Cook; brother: James Taylor; sisters: Katherine Varnum, Elma Dunlap, Edna Taylor. Her husband Floyd followed her into Heaven shortly after her passing on the same day. 

She is survived by her son: Glenn Cook of Chipley, Florida; daughter: Karen Cook of Chipley, Florida; brother: Willis Taylor of Wetumpka, Alabama; grandchildren: Chris Cook, Rachel Krieger, Meleah Cook, Ashlyn Cook; great grandchildren: Alexis Cook, Jessalynn Cook, Carson Krieger. 

Funeral Services will be held 11AM Friday September 3, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Chipley, Florida with Rev. Gary Wiggins and Rev. Tim Brigham. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Obert Funeral Home Of Chipley, Florida directing.

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Food Bank in her honor at 1407 South Railroad Ave, Chipley, Florida.
