A 61-year-old woman has been arrested on charges of tampering with witness/victim, which is a second-degree felony.
On October 9th, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a registered sexual predator, Andy James Bradley with 4 counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition, victim under the age of 16 and 2 counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, victim under the age of 12.
One of the victims in the Bradley investigation attempted suicide. Subsequent to the Bradley arrest, investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into Bradley’s mother Rosemary Burkett of Godwin Rd., Chipley. After interviews with family members and witnesses, Burkett made several negative comments to the victim about the accusations into her sons’ charges, accusing the victim of lying to law enforcement about her son.
Burkett stated to the victim that her son is an ordained minister, and that the victim would be punished and live a life of misery for the accusations made against her son. Burkett made several other negative comments to the victim which made the victim feel as if no one believed them and resulted in the victim attempting to take their own life.
The victim spent several days in a Pensacola hospital where they have since been released.
Sheriff Crews stated, “I take these situations very serious and will assist in prosecuting such people to the fullest extent of the law.”
On October 21, 2021, Rosemary Burkett, of Chipley was booked into the Washington County Jail.
