On October 21, 2021, the Jackson County Sheriff’s (JCSO) responded to a report of an armed robbery, located at the Dollar General in Alford.
Upon Deputies arrival, the clerk advised that a white male entered the store wearing a surgical mask.
After a short period of time, the suspect asked an employee for assistance and advised the employee that he was robbing them with a firearm.
The employee complied with the suspect’s commands and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of US Currency.
Witnesses told JCSO Investigators that the suspect left the business at a high rate of speed.
Investigators followed the path provided by a witness which led to the location of where the suspect’s vehicle stopped on a dirt road and investigators located evidence.
JCSO Investigators received a tip which advised that the suspect was Joshua Davis from Washington County and they began collecting evidence on Davis.
With this information, Investigators contacted the Chipley Police Department. JCSO Investigators, along with Chipley Police Department Investigators, made contact with the vehicle’s owner in Chipley, Florida.
During a search of the vehicle, items were found in connection with the armed robbery. During the investigation, it was determined that Davis was also involved in a robbery that occurred in Chipley, Florida on a prior date.
JCSO was granted an arrest warrant for Joshua Davis, who was located at a residence in Washington County on October 25, 202.
Davis was charged with Robbery and Grand Theft.
