A Nashville, Tennessee woman is behind bars in Washington County on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
A call came into the Washington County Communication Center around 4 p.m., September 5. Witnesses say a male was walking South on State Rd. 79 acting erratically. As deputies were in route, they witness a female signaling for help with a visible gunshot wound to the arm. The victim described the assailant as 33-year-old, Charlotte Briann Rollins, of Nashville, TN. Deputies secure the scene and notify EMS.
After further investigation it was determined that four individuals were traveling to Panama City Beach to check on Rollins grandfather who is under Hospice care. During the trip to FL an argument erupted between Rollins and a female passenger which later resulted in the two engaging in a physical altercation on the side of the highway. The trip resumed and found them entered into Washington County on State Rd. 79 near Johnson Rd. where another physical altercation erupted resulting in Rollins shooting the female passenger in the arm.
Injuries sustained by the victim were non-life threatening and she was later released from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Rollins was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Additional charges in the case are pending.
