On Sunday, October 31, 2021, at approximately 2:30 p.m. CST, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
(JCSO) responded to assist the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office with the search of a homicide victim.
The JCSO Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division, Operations Division, and Reserve Unit
responded and utilized multiple resources to begin their search.
The JCSO Dive Team was activated and after an exhaustive search in the suspected area, the victim was
located in the Chattahoochee River near Neals Landing. The investigation is ongoing by the Seminole
County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Edenfield would like to thank the JCSO units that responded for successfully locating the victim,
as well as the partnership between state lines with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia
Department of Natural Resources.
