Franklin Kenneth Kirkland, 81 of Wausau, Florida Passes on November 12, 2021 in Chipley, Florida

Franklin Kenneth “Pa Pa” Kirkland, 81 of Wausau, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2021 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida surrounded by his loving family.

Kenneth was born on March 29, 1940 in Holmes County, Florida to General Malcolm Kirkland and Irene Jordan Kirkland. A lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle, he served in the United States Air Force before going to work as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Washington County. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida. During his retirement he enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing, collecting coins and tractors, but most of all spending time with his loving children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: General Malcolm and Irene Kirkland; beloved wife: Willene C. Kirkland; twin infant boys; brothers: Millard Kirkland and Venard Kirkland; sister: Tina Polston.

He is survived by his son, Ray Kirkland and wife Felicia of Chipley, Florida; daughter: Deborah Easterling and Paul Schaubhut of Chipley, Florida; grandchildren: Ashlee Hayes and husband Zeke, Carter Kirkland, Brantley Kirkland, Alyssa Kirkland; great grandchild: Case Hayes.

Funeral service will be held 11AM Monday, November 15, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida with Rev. Tim Brigham officiating. Interment will follow in Wausau Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wausau, Florida. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
