42-Year-Old, Melvin Paul Kiser of Tennessee Arrested on Felony Warrants by Washington County Sheriff’s Office

A Tennessee man is in custody after he fled from at a residence off State Rd. 77 near Ben Rd.

Earlier this morning, November 15th, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies respond to a call in reference to suspicious activity in the parking lot of the Rainbow Store in Greenhead.

Deputies arrive and make contact with the victim. The victim stated she was in the process of purchasing a vehicle from the subject but something didn’t seem right. After a check of the license plate on the vehicle it didn’t match the vehicle it was registered to.

The victim recently befriended the subject selling the vehicle and allowed him to stopover at her residence. The victim told deputies the subject was at her home and escorted deputies back to the residence to make contact with the subject.

Upon deputy’s arrival to the residence, the subject was witnessed walking behind the home and fled into the wood line. Deputies make a positive identification on the subject as 42-year-old, Melvin Paul Kiser, of Tennessee.

A quick license check revealed Kiser to have outstanding felony warrants out of Tennessee. Deputies contact Northwest Florida Reception Center K9 and Holmes CI K9 tracking teams in an attempt to locate Kiser. A short time later Kiser was apprehended north of the residence near Barbirch Rd.  

On scene deputies recover a stolen motorcycle and a vehicle stolen out of Jackson County. 

Kiser was transported and booked into the Washington County Jail on the felony warrants out of Tennessee.
