William “Dub” Carter, 89 of Chipley, Florida Passes on November 17, 2021 in Marianna, Florida

William “Dub” Carter, 89 of Chipley, went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2021 in Marianna, Florida surrounded by his loving family.

William was born on April 20, 1932 in Wausau, Florida to Dallas and Cora Long Carter. He served in the United States Army before transferring to the Army National Guard. After his service in the military he returned home where he worked as a Pulp Wooder. William loved spending time outdoors tending to his garden and fishing, but his greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Cora Carter; beloved wife: Lois Carter; son: Ricky Carter; great grandson: Ethan Suggs; brothers: Ross, Willie, Ralph, and CC Carter; sisters: Mabel Newsome and Ardell Carter.

He is survived by his daughters: Patricia Suggs and husband Charles, Connie Batchelor and husband Steven; daughter in law: Alice Carter; sister: Narvel Armstrong; eight grandchildren: Rick Carter and wife Shannon, Charles Suggs and wife Viviana, Patti Suggs and husband Todd, Kari Kinney and husband Colt, Terry Suggs, Skyla Jones and husband Brandon, Matthew Batchelor, Andrew Batchelor; great grandchildren: Helen Grace, Katelyn, Sarah Jo, Thomas, Fiona, Juniper, Bryant, Mikaela, Aubrey, Xander, Zoey, Zayne, Josephine, and Jordan.

A graveside celebration of life with Military Honors will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Ferguson Cemetery in Wausau, Florida with Rev. Danny Burns officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
