Margaret Patricia “Patty” Gainer Jencks, 70, of Panama City, FL, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness.
She was born in Southport, FL on January 20, 1951 to the late Lillie Mae and Robert L. “Buster” Vickery of Southport, FL. Patty was a lifelong resident of Bay County and worked in the mortgage banking industry for most of her life where she enjoyed serving her clients and loved assisting them plan for and purchase their dream homes.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time outdoors. Patty will be cherished and missed by her family and friends, especially her companion pet Coco who has been by her side for thirteen years.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Buford Vickery, Dr. Robert E. Vickery, and Woodrow Vickery; and three sisters Darnell Cox, Viola Glass, and Marie Beebe.
She leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Larry Jencks; her daughter, Sandy Hundley and husband Jim; her son, Dustin Jencks and wife Lakonya all of Panama City, FL; her sister, Minnie Stukey and husband Joe of Lakeland, FL; five grandchildren, Jai Jencks, Tajh Jencks, Gracie Mae Hundley, Charlie Hundley and Jade Jencks; and several nieces and nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 20, 2021 at Southerland Funeral Home with Pastor David Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Vernon, FL. The family will host a Celebration of Life reception on Lucas Lake (3900 New Jerusalem Road), immediately following the graveside service.
