Temperatures with lows in the low 70’s and a few showers possible continue until sunrise on Sunday, January 2, 2022, just ahead of a line of storms that will move through around or just after sunrise on Sunday.
Storms should roll in around sunrise for those in southeast Alabama and stick around through the afternoon for much of the Tri-State.
There is a chance we could have damaging winds and even an embedded tornado or two within this line of storms.
The best chance for severe weather from this line is actually later in the day and farther east of the Wiregrass.
Temperatures will start in the low 70s and likely drop very quickly once the line has moved all the way across our area.
Monday will start off in the middle 30s with breezy conditions that will make it feel more like the upper 20s. Sunny skies will prevail, and highs will be in the low 50s.
Tuesday will also start off on the cool side with lows in the middle 30s, but it won’t be quite as breezy. Highs will rebound to the middle and upper 50s.
Wednesday is going to be a fairly seasonable day with lows in the low to middle 40s and highs in the middle 60s.
Thursday has a 40% chance for some shower activity. Highs will move up to the upper 60s.
Friday brings us back to the 30s during the morning hours and only brings our highs to the middle 50s with mostly sunny skies.
Saturday will also start in the middle 30s, but we’ll warm up to around 60 degrees which is on par for highs this time of year.
