Murley B. Stricklen Wood, age 91, of Bonifay, Florida passed away January 8, 2022, at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay. She was born April 30, 1930, in Caryville, Florida to the late John Thomas Stricklen and Flossie Gibson Stricklen. In addition to her parents, Murley was preceded in death by infant son, Dannie Gerald Rich and her sons-in-law, Bob Bush and Jack Marell.
Murley is survived by her three children, Faye Bush of Chipley, FL, Ann Marell of Bonifay, FL, and Chuck Sheffield and wife Kimberly of Bonifay, FL; five grandchildren, Renee Newsom and husband Tim, Ronnie Bush, David Marell and wife Barbara, Eric Marell and wife Kristen, and Alana Lauren Sheffield; her sisters and brother, Teen Steverson, Mary Ann Berry, Ola Griffin, Owene Laird, and Clarence Carroll; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in the Bonifay Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 PM at Peel Funeral Home.
