The report of a stolen Spartan Trail Camera lands a Cottondale, FL man in the Washington County Jail.
On February 7th, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen Spartan Trail Camera off a property on Old Bonifay Rd. The victim stated the camera stopped showing images in late December and he assumed the battery was dead. Sometime later the camera was activated, and the GPS indicated it was located near an address off Eloise Lane in Chipley. The victim had not accessed the camera or given anyone permission handle or use the camera.
Deputies arrive at the residence and make contact with the resident, 35-year-old, Christopher Allen Dyvig. As deputies inquire about the camera, Dyvig retrieves it from a tree in the front yard of the residence and informs deputies he received it from a friend and “knew it would come up stolen.”
Investigators follow up, Dyvig denied any involvement with stealing the camera or having the SD card that was associated with the camera and would never give any information as to who he had received the camera from. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Christopher Allen Dyvig.
Dyvig was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of dealing in stolen property.
